The National Business Centre (NBC), which pertains to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), organised yesterday (Wednesday) Reyooq event, which highlighted topics related to creative industries. These topics included ways, mechanisms and significance of developing creative industries; small enterprises in the field of creative industries; and Omani talents in the creative industries.

Moderated by Hamood Al Hamadan, Director of Sas for Entrepreneurship Centre at Information Technology Authority (ITA), the event hosted speakers comprising Firas Al Musafir of Innovation Factory; Issra Al Lawati of Mint Marketing; and Haitham Al Busafi of Busafi Visuals. The speakers pointed out that ‘creative industries’ have become a major source of realising great financial returns. “The main value of creative industries is not only etched to manufacturing aspects, but also to information expansion and how to exploit such information in production. Creative industries rely primarily on talent and individual work, while diversity is also an important aspect from which creative industries grow and flourish,” the speakers discussed.

Sponsored by Ooredoo, the series events of Reyooq aspire to present an ultimate platform for Omani entrepreneurs to network with experts, and learn about entrepreneurship to get innovative and creative ideas for their businesses. This initiative also comes to develop the abilities and knowledge of entrepreneurs and put their perspectives forward to the experts in the field, besides enhancing communication channels. This year, NBC will hold four sessions of Reyooq, highlighting four varied significant sectors, of which ‘creative industries’ was the first topic to be highlighted this year.

The National Business Centre is an initiative launched by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) to offer promising Omani entrepreneurs a platform to develop their business ideas and advance them into growing ventures. The centre provides a premier platform for Omani entrepreneurs by offering business development support and guidance, training and mentoring, access to markets and industry experts, and state-of-the-art and fully equipped office space, meeting rooms and presentation facilities.
