Middle East College and Knowledge Oasis Muscat hold Annual Career Fair 2017

Middle East College (MEC) and Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) organised yesterday (Sunday) the Annual Career Fair 2017 at the MEC Student Hub, MEC campus situated in the Knowledge Oasis Muscat. The event took place under the auspices of Hilal bin Hamad Al Hasani, Chief Executive Officer of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE). The career fair aimed at gathering institutions from the public and private sectors under one platform to offer career and training opportunities, and guidance for students and graduates.

Commenting on the significance of this career fair, Ahmed Al Hadhrami, acting director general of the Knowledge Oasis Muscat, said: “This fair comes in line with the efforts undertaken by KOM and Middle East College to contribute together in highlighting job and training opportunities for job seekers. Since its establishment, KOM has been undertaking constant efforts to highlight suitable job opportunities and offer training opportunities for the national cadres in the field of ICT and hence contribute to the advancement of economic diversification through the ICT field.”

On his part, Dr. Saleh Al Shaaibi, Associate Dean – External Affairs and Community Outreach at Middle East College pointed out that career fairs present an opportunity for the youth to explore job and training opportunities which are available in the various public and private institutions in the Sultanate under one platform. “This event comes as part of our continuous endeavours to provide assistance to the youth and offer them the opportunity to utilise their talents and invest their time towards the right direction, and thus contribute to the development of the nation,” Al Shaaibi noted.

More than 20 institutions took part in the event comprising the National Business Centre (NBC) which falls under the umbrella of PEIE, Omantel, Oman Environmental Services Holding Company S.A.O.C (Be’ah), Al Madina Logistics Services, Public Authority of Manpower Register, Salam Air, Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority, Royal Air Force of Oman, SME Development Fund, Bank Sohar, Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, Shumookh Investment and Services SAOC, among others.
