In line with the series of exhibitions held as part of Origin Oman Campaign, the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) is organising Omani Products’ Exhibition at the Municipality Recreation Centre in Itin, Salalah. The exhibition, which was inaugurated recently under the auspices of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Aqeel Al Ibrahim, acting deputy governor of Dhofar, comes in line with events held at Salalah Tourism Festival 2017.

While inaugurating the event, Al Ibrahim noted that the Omani products are promising as they contribute significantly in supplying the local markets. “Many of the participating companies in the exhibition export their products to foreign markets. This ultimately plays a significant role in strengthening the national economy,” he pointed out.

Participants at the exhibition stressed that such exhibitions offer a great opportunity to introduce their high quality products, which are remarkably competing in local and overseas markets. Badriya Al Fulaiti, marketing executive at Gulf Mushroom Products Co., said that participation at the exhibition in Salalah allows the company to interact with customers to introduce them to the company’s variety of products, as well as understand the requirements of the customers.

Mohsin bin Ali, general manager at Local Tents Factory, pointed out that the company aims at exploring new channels to promote its products. “The company manufactures European, Arabian and Ramadan tents and other models upon request. We also manufacture car parking shades and invest new designs that meet all customer’s needs,” Al Shehri said.

On his part, Ahmed Al Adawi, deputy marketing manager at Barzman Foods, stated that the exhibition gives participants the opportunity to display the company’s high quality food products and thus allow visitors to get acquainted with the rich features of these products.

Rasheed Karizo, Director of Sales and Marketing at Danat A'Zaman Company, said, “This exhibition is a significant one taking into account that the Omani companies need continuous support in marketing their products within the local and foreign markets. Moreover, we wish there would be a focus in organising such exhibitions in countries with high human population density such as Egypt and Asian countries. A focus on promoting the products via visual media such as local TV channels as well as foreign channels is also required to disseminate awareness on the Omani products.”

It should be mentioned that PEIE aspires through organising Omani Products’ Exhibitions to raise awareness on the locally manufactured products and services and their ability to compete locally and abroad simultaneously. The Origin Oman Campaign is a national initiative designed to encourage consumers and organisations to buy Oman made goods and services, promote national pride in the manufacturing industry and highlight the economic importance of choosing and buying locally manufactured products and services.

The Omani Products’ Exhibition at Salalah Tourism Festival will continue till August 30.
