Astronomy Pioneer Projects, a company which is incubated at the National Business Centre (NBC), organised recently an event in the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) to observe the partial lunar eclipse that was witnessed by the Sultanate in addition to other countries. Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) Planetarium and Astronomical Solutions Company took part in the event.

Issam Al Salhi, Executive Director of Astronomy Pioneer Projects, stated that the night also witnessed the observation of Jupiter and Saturn planets. The public was also able to enjoy the beauty of the planets using the astronomical telescopes which were available at the event. He also pointed out that lunar eclipse happens when the moon passes directly behind the Earth into its shadow, and this phenomenon can occur when the sun, Earth, and moon are aligned.
